Cross-cutting themes
Cross-cutting themes are issues that need to be addressed through all the programmes and projects.
Civil society and rights-based development; partner choice
All IBIS’ programmes and projects are working with a rights based approach to development. IBIS and our partners are working with projects like; education as a fundamental right, right to participate in decision making processes within the area of local governance, right to vote during election, rights to information, rights in relation to domestic violence etc.
HIV/AIDS
HIV/AIDS concerns are mainstreamed into IBIS’ programmes. The objective is to ensure that the perspective of women and HIV/AIDS infected and affected people are included in advocacy activities and information campaigns.
Environment
Environmental concerns are mainstreamed into IBIS' programs. IBIS supports its partners in their political work, their ability to engage in political dialogue with state and market, and in their national and international networking in favor of sustainable development.
Gender
IBIS’ programme work, information and lobby activities are increasingly contributing to achieve gender equality, and full and equal enjoyment of rights, participation in decision making as well as access to and control over resources. Gender issues and/or the promotion of gender equality are integrated in all IBIS’ activities.
