Gender equality

IBIS’ programme work, information and lobby activities are increasingly contributing to achieve gender equality, and full and equal enjoyment of rights, participation in decision making as well as access to and control over resources.

Gender issues and/or the promotion of gender equality are integrated in all IBIS’ activities, being the thematic programmes or single project. However, no program or projects have gender equality as their main objective or area of intervention.

Common issues dealt with
The gender policy is used as the main reference point in all programmes and project. Common issues dealt with in the thematic programmes and projects are:

- Women’s participation in activities and organisational structures and
- Girls’ access to education
